General Rules
***no phones or communication devices in car***
- Must be at least 18 years of age to drive.
- Officials reserve the right to approve or reject any entry
- No drinking in the pits before and during the event. Any driver or crew that is caught drinking or under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be immediately disqualified and escorted out of the pit area. There will be ZERO tolerance for this.
- Any Driver or crew member disobeying the rules will cause his or her car to be disqualified
- Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and will be grounds for disqualification and barring from future derbies. Drivers are responsible for the actions of their crew members.
- Drivers and crew are responsible for any damages caused by their negligence on the track or in the pit area.
- Reckless driving in the pit area will result in disqualification.
- All cars must register prior to start time.
- Must have a full face helmet which will remain on at all times when you are on the track.
- Fire Suits are required.
- Fire extinguishers are required!
- In case of a fire, please wait for the red lights to come on to stop the cars to make a safe exit.
- Drivers must remain in their vehicles throughout the event until the checkered flag.
- All glass, chrome, plastic and molding must be removed from the car. (Windshield can stay unless broken or bunch of cracks in windshield)
- Carpet and Back Seats must be removed.
- All wheel weights must be removed.
- Auto must be swept clean. No junk tires, wheels, metal parts, broken glass, etc. allowed in the car. You will not be allowed on the track.
- All drivers and crews are responsible for picking up trash, automobile parts, scrap metal, tires, etc. from their car.
- Must wear seat belt at all times while on the track.
- Must have Large numbers (Clear) on the roof and both sides of the car.
- No vulgar writing on cars – No drug terminology writing on cars.
- Driver’s door bar is recommended.
- 2 holes must be cut in the hood 6” X 5”.
- No hitting car in Driver’s door in any and all events.

HAMMER TIME DEMOLITION DERBY- $2,500 TO WIN October 28th, 2023
- Run What You "Brung"! If you're scared, leave it on the trailer.
- Driver and Passenger side doors must be welded shut, reinforced with I Beam type channel.
- 4 cylinder / 6 cylinder cars, All Wheel Drive Okay, Solid Tires Okay
- All glass must be removed , front windshield area covered with expanded metal, entire front window. Driver side window net required.
- No tipping over devices, or puncturing devices.
- Fire extinguisher required.
- Fuel tank must be Infront of rear axle, with firewall between driver.
- Helmet, Fire Suit, Fire Gloves and Shoes Required (See Track Specifications)
- Citrus County Speedway and Track LLC will not be responsible for any damages, or hurt feelings.
- Minimum - one roll bar required.
- Must have a battery shut off located within track workers reach.
- Front and Rear bumper must be squared. No angled bumper!
FULL SIZE - BIG CAR DEMOLITION DERBY AUGUST 5TH
- Any passenger car any V8 gas/ diesel 10 cylinder okay, turbo okay, electric cars okay, stock body okay.
- Any Gas or Diesel or Electric Motor OKAY, can be interchanged and does not have to be stock
- All wheel drive okay, Solid Tires Okay
- No Vans , No Trucks
- Must have a full stock windshield or screen, expanded metal windshield.
- Must have two holes in the hood larger than 8 inches in diameter.
- Must have a battery shut off located within track workers reach.
- Minimum 1 Roll Bar Recommended, can be on interior or exterior.
- Doors must be welded shut
- Front and rear bumpers must be stock
- All glass interior must be removed.
- All interior, and lights must be removed.
- Fuel tank relocated Infront of rear axle with fire wall.
- Relocate the battery and radiator okay
- No hitting driver doors, we recommend one driver door bar, can be located on either interior or exterior.
- Must have numbers on the car
- Suspension must be stock, no altering (stock springs, no lifting, no welding trailing arms or A frames solid) (Rear axle trailing arm mounts on rear axle can be fabricated, must be in stock location and use stock trailing arms for make model and year of car)
- Positive traction rear end okay
- Fire extinguisher required.
- Helmet, Fire Suit, Fire Gloves and Shoes Required (See Track Specifications)
- No bracing of body, core support
- Trunk weld shut okay
- Prep car as in GENERAL RULES
- Boat *MUST NOW BE ON A FULL TRAILER* [NOTHING CAN BE DRAGGING]
- You Must have 2 feet of your boat left to complete the event and collect prize money
- May use kayaks or canoes but must meet length rule.
- It’s a Trailer Race with boats, campers and Jet Skis.
- Minimum trailer length overall 10 feet.
- Trailers with advertising signs permitted.
- Utility style trailers OKAY.
- Boats must be cleaned out before going out on the track
- Boats must have the car number on it
- If anything on the car or attached to the car starts damaging the track the car will be DQ’d
- Jack handles on trailers must be removed
- All drivers need to wear glasses and or face shields
- All glass must be removed from boat
- No cutting boats
- For small cars boat must be at least 8’ or larger for larger car 10’ or larger. Minimum trailer length overall 10 feet.
- Seat belts must be worn before getting on the track
- Stay in your vehicle unless an official tells you otherwise
- Chain must be no longer than 5 feet
CHAIN RACE
- Prep car as in GENERAL RULES
- Chain must be a minimal length of 5 feet
- If chain breaks cars are done, you must pull off into a safe area on the track you will no longer be scored for the event.
- If you do not pull off, you may be disqualified from the rest of the events.
- Number on car must be clear and big
- Seat belts must always be worn.
- You must remain in your vehicle unless an official tells you otherwise.
- Second cars engine needs to be off and remain off throughout the event – Your team will be disqualified if 2nd car is running at any time through the race.
- You must stay in your vehicle throughout the event.
- Prep car as in GENERAL RULES
- Car must go around the flagpole on the first lap and every other lap of the race or car will not be scored.
- Cars must come into the flagpole at a safe rate of speed so not to hit other drivers in the driver’s door
- Car numbers must be clear and big
- Seat belts must always be worn
- You must remain in your vehicle unless an official tells you otherwise.
- Push Car Race permitted cars: Enduro, Mini Stock, Ford Outlaw, Demo Cars, are the only cars that will be permitted to push.
- Pushee (one being pushed): No running engine, can be anyone of the permitted cars listed above. If the car has an engine, battery must be removed.
- Transponder will be attached to Pushee Car.
- Not a demolition derby, its a RACE!! No intentional blocking of Pushee.
SCHOOL BUS RULES
Safety Rules (MANDATORY)
- The Citrus County Speedway officials will inspect all buses before competing. No truck chassis buses. Must be bus chassis. All buses must be safety inspected before they race. If and when deemed necessary, officials shall have the authority to insist upon a physical eye examination or field sobriety test of any participant.
- NO bus shall have any passengers and/or riders at any time NO EXCEPTIONS!
- Racing helmet with min. Snell 2015 rating. Neck brace recommended.
- Fire suit with SFI min. Rating of "1". No holes allowed in fire suit.
- Fire resistant racing gloves and racing shoes must always be worn while on track. No Mechanix type gloves will be permitted.
- A single, quick release, 5-point harness (minimum 3-inch belts) dated 2016 or newer is required in all buses. All belts and installation must be approved by the track officials. All required belts and safety equipment must always be in use while on the track.
- Aluminum racing seats mandatory and must be mounted securely in stock location with bracing and support of the bottom, back and head rest of seat. Seat belts must be attached to same fixture seat is mounted on and must be through bolted with minimum of (4)-1/2 " bolts and 4"x4" x1/4" steel plates for each bolt on underside of floor if mounted to floor. No lag bolts.
- All buses must have a fire extinguisher (minimum 2 lbs.) securely mounted within easy reach of driver. The mounting must be in such a way that the driver can quickly remove it from its mount. Wrapping duct tape around the extinguisher or any other material that will prohibit that easy removal of the extinguisher is not acceptable. All extinguishers MUST be fully charged and have a working gauge before bus will be allowed on the track.
Bus Body
- C type passenger buses only. Must be minimum of 24 foot long.
- 8.00/20 minimum tire size.
- Center Steering allowed, Relocation of pedals allowed.
- Turbo diesel engines allowed, Tuning is allowed.
- Windshield minimum of 4, 1 inch bar Infront of driver area, along with expanded metal type screening, minimum 1/2 windshield coverage Infront of driver.
- All breaks must be in good, working condition.
- Body and interior must remain completely intact. Seats may be removed or secured. Headlights and taillights must be removed. All body side trim/molding must be removed.
- All Vehicle glass must be removed except windshield. Windshields may be removed but MUST be replaced with approved metal screen ¼” mesh or smaller, minimum 1/8-inch-thick or Lexan. Remove all headlights, taillights and body moldings.
- Emergency door must be completely removed. Front door and hand lever may be removed or chained shut. Front doors that remain must have an opening in the bottom of the door to gain access if needed.
- OEM suspension components only. No suspension altering devices.
- Gas tanks may be relocated. Fuel Cell or marine gas tank is recommended. Must be securely fastened with a minimum of two 1"x1/8"steel straps from front to back and side to side. Steel firewall must separate drivers from fuel tank area. Absolutely NO plumbers strap!!!
- Batteries may be relocated but must be securely mounted with steel straps from front to back and side to side. No plumbers strap.
- A minimum 4-point roll bar constructed of 1 3/4" .095 wall steel tubing minimum with up right halo and 2 rearward braces. Must be mounted on 4"x4"x1/4" steel plates and through bolted to floor. No lag bolts. No square tubing or galvanized pipe allowed. 6" C-channel 6' long centered and mounted on the left side of the bus with four 1/2" bolts evenly spaced approximately mid-torso while in the seated position is highly recommended.
- Nothing may be painted on the car which might be considered offensive. All cars will be screened before entry to the track surface and buses not conforming shall not compete.
- All modifications not covered in these rules will not be allowed unless approved by tech.
- Decisions of the officials are final in all cases.
